Project Description

In the Spring Semester of 2020, Tom Smalling, owner of Smalling Studios, took the EME 6209–Multimedia Instructional Systems II course as part of UCF’s Instructional Design Master’s degree. This project aimed to incorporate Mayer’s 12 Principles of Multimedia Learning in a visual presentation of content provided by the instructor. The challenge was demonstrating our ability to develop interactive e-learning projects using Adobe Captivate and Articulate Storyline.

The project kicked off with the storyboard development. Microsoft PowerPoint makes a great storyboarding tool, allowing you to quickly re-arrange thoughts and the order of the content. After finalizing the story, I optimized the visual assets for the project using Adobe Photoshop. Then, I created an introduction for the training using a green screen and Adobe Premiere Pro. Finally, The interactive e-learning project was developed using Articulate Storyline and Adobe Captivate.
