OCEA Union Website

Smalling Studios re-designed the Osceola County Education Association (OCEA) union WordPress website. The previous website had multiple issues surrounding the visual design and website security. Smalling Studios took over the website’s hosting, and working with key union members, we created a new website. 

Project Goals

• Re-design the website’s visual appeal.
• Increase website security.
• Add membership functionality. 

In the discovery phase, we determined there are three major functions the union serves for its members. We designed the WordPress website based on this determination around the three functions. The existing WordPress website was designed using the Virtue theme. To help speed up the development of the website, we decided to use the Avada theme. The Avada theme, a responsive template, allows us to quickly develop pages using its block-builder system. To increase security, we performed systems tests to ensure the website was locked down. We also started using a security plugin. To address the membership functionality, we implemented the Paid Membership Pro system. 

The OCEA website is currently under active management by Smalling Studios. New content, such as posts and banners, is consistently added.
