Project Description
In the Fall Semester of 2018, Tom Smalling, owner of Smalling Studios, took the EME 6055 – Current Trends in Instructional Technology course as part of UCF’s Instructional Design Master’s degree. The project prompt was to develop a visual presentation (animation) using a metaphor to communicate an instructional design development model. Tom used the polishing stone analogy to tell the story of the Successive Approximation Model (SAM) iterative design process. He used Adobe Illustrator to develop the visual metaphor graphic and then animated the story using Adobe After Effects.
